Julie Schultz

President / Executive Director / Member since March 2016

Julie, the visionary leader behind Main Street Family Services. She wears multiple hats, serving as the founder, Executive Director, and President of our dedicated Board of Directors. In November 2015, Julie was asked to start a company to provide supervised visitation and parent education services to Sherburne County. She had been doing these services alone for the previous five years.

Julie took on the challenge and contacted former board members of the unused Main Street Family Services 501c3 and asked if they could help her with this new challenge. They happily endorsed this new opportunity to use the 501c3 that had sat dormant for the previous 8 years. With Julie as the executive director, Main Street Family Services began serving families on March 1, 2016.

The Main Street Family Services’ legacy of serving individuals, children, and families has deep roots, a loving history, and a commitment to serving the most hurt and vulnerable. Julie is proud to be the instrument used to bring the mission and vision of Main Street Family Services to the individuals, children, and families in our community.

Dale Dimitroff

Chairman of the Board / Member since July 2019

Dale has provided leadership by guiding and supporting the mission and vision of Main Street Family Services since 2019. Dale is currently retired from Northrop Grumman and Alliant Techsystems as a quality manager. He is also a retired Captain of the United States Marine Corp.

Dale has a passion for giving back to his community. He has started several ministry organizations and a nonprofit that supports Native American communities, as well as serving in church leadership for over 40 years. Dale brings proven business processes, quality system standards of excellence, and skilled leadership to the Main Street Family Services board of directors.

Pam Mertz

Vice Chair / Member since 2022

Pam Mertz joined the MSFS Board of Directors in April 2022. Her professional experience includes being the Founder and owner of Northland Electronic Sales and BluePrintLife Coaching, LLC. Pam is a Contracted Coach for Clinical Microsystems, IEHSS, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Partnership Enhancement Program, and Promised Land Living. Pam is also a Professional Christian Coaching Institute faculty member and a certified Strengths Coach. (Gallup)

Pam is a volunteer for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation from 2001-present, and she serves Nationally on the Leadership Council. Pam has been a women’s ministry leader and a founding board member for the Quarterback and Lacrosse Club for Rogers High School. Pam feels that the combination of her professional and personal experience and her trained expertise in coaching will be an asset for MSFS to help train and equip families in many ways. I have training in communication tools, including conflict resolution and difficult conversations. My experience of leading in many professional and volunteer areas has helped me better understand how to lead and guide teams toward their best potential.
“I have been through a lot of trauma and trials throughout my life, beginning at the very young age of 5. The Lord has healed me so much; it is an ongoing process. I have learned many tools in my healing; my life vision is to help the wounded. Serving on the Main Street board is a way to do that.”

Lou Mertz

Member at Large / Member since 2022

Lou Mertz joined the MSFS Board of Directors in April 2022. He is currently retired from a long career as a founder, owner, and President of several companies, including Lou Mertz Inspections, United First Financial Team UFF, and Respir Tech Corporation.

Lou has volunteered and served on many Community Service organizations, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and as a founding board member for both the Quarterback and Lacrosse Club for Rogers High School youth sports programs. He has also participated in church leadership. Over the years, Lou has had many opportunities to build small, medium, and large teams of people, positioning them for success. Lou says, “The wisdom learned throughout my career is not something to cherish; rather, it needs to be shared. I can contribute that wisdom in a small way to help grow MSFS.”
“I greatly loved my professional career, but my passion is helping kids and their families.”

Gary Morrison

Member at Large since 2022

Gary is a zoning administrator for the City of St. Louis Park. As the zoning administrator, he describes his responsibilities as working with residents and businesses to assist them in meeting their needs and requests and navigating city, county, and state rules. Gary is also the co-owner of a small local business.

Gary is active in a church and has participated in many outreach opportunities, including building relationships with our friends on an Indian Reservation, visiting with them up to five times a year for the past ten years, and teaching English language learners’ classes locally and overseas. Gary routinely gives back to the community by participating in food shelf drives and raising donations for abuse shelters and victims of human trafficking, and local law enforcement.

Gary is the parent of three children adopted from Russia. One of whom was adopted by another family that terminated their rights to him at the age of five because of his disabilities. Since then, Gary and his wife have been advocating for their son through the school, county, state, and federal systems to get him the best care available.

Jenni Viken

Secretary / Member since 2020

Jenni is a Business Broker and property investor with Meritus Group Business Brokerage and Retreat to Lake Superior. Jenni has worked in Clinical and Clinical IT for Large Medical Device and Pharma Companies. She has also been a Business Analyst/Project Manager.

Jenni is the author of the book “Choosing Healthy Relationships, & a self-help book for Domestic Violence, and she is certified as a domestic violence advocate and a breakthrough coach. Jenni is very passionate about domestic violence and helping to get to the root cause of the trauma that causes this behavior.

“I believe that all my past experiences will benefit my role on the board, including my passion for the mission and vision of this program. I believe that my personal experience with a broken system where I didn’t feel nurtured, valued, joyful, hopeful, empowered, and connected will allow me to be an advocate for the primary mission and vision of this business.”

Steve Stensrud

Treasurer

Steve has worked in accounting since 1981 and has experience serving public registrants and private companies across multiple industries. Most recently, Steve retired from his position as an audit partner for Baker Tilly US, LLP, and has 42 years of experience serving private companies in the manufacturing and distribution industry, including audits of accelerated and non-accelerated filers, providing merger and acquisition transaction support in various industries and assisting clients in planning strategies for business growth, capital needs, both debt and equity. Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Steve believes in giving back to his community and has served as a board member of the Minnesota Children’s Museum as well as their finance committee chair. In addition, he served as an Overseer at his church for six years and as their finance committee chair for seven years. Steve has a strong and practical accounting background and a passion for organizations that serve families and support the growth of children with the love of God in their lives.

Steve says he is a part of the Main Street Family Services board of directors because he believes in their mission, vision, and values. Steve loves to waterski and spend time with his wife, family, and his 14 grandkids.
