DESCRIPTION:What is the Parent Advisory Committee?\nThe Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is a group of parents and caregivers from the community. As a member of our PAC\, you’ll play a crucial role in voicing the needs and experiences of parents and caregivers in our programs. You’ll be collaborating with our dedicated team to enhance our offerings and ensure that we’re meeting the needs of families in our community. \nWhat Will You Do?\nKey responsibilities of the Parent Advisory Committee members: \n\nAdvocate for Families: You’ll be the bridge between the Family Resource Center staff and families\, helping to share resources and support services effectively.\nProvide Resources: Identify and organize helpful resources\, like workshops or counseling services\, that can benefit families\nDevelop Outreach: You’ll get to develop strategies to engage families\, raise awareness about our resources\, and encourage everyone to participate in programs and events.\nPlan Events that inform and support families. This will be a big part of your role\, ensuring everything aligns with our mission.\nLead Volunteers: You’ll recruit\, train\, and supervise volunteers who want to help out with various programs and activities\nEvaluate Program: Track family participation and feedback that will help us improve the program.\n\nWhat is the Time Commitment?\n1 meeting per month (2 hours) \n\nDinner and Childcare provided!\n\nWhat Skills Do You Bring? \n\nEmpathy and Compassion: You truly want to help families from all walks of life.\nCultural Sensitivity: You can connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.\nProblem Solving: You’re creative and resourceful when tackling challenges.\nFlexibility: You can adapt to change and help occasionally on evenings and weekends.
